The story goes like this....
Once upon a time, a happily married couple were sitting on their couch. The girl, whose name is Tenika, was checking up on her facebook page. She noticed that her profile picture was looking lame. Halloween costume mid-way through November? No thanks.
"I need a new profile picture," she said to her husband, whose name is Tyler.
"Then let's take one," Tyler said. It was very nice of him to say something like that, since he hates having his picture taken. But, as he likes to remind Tenika every day, Tyler is good to his wife.
So out came the camera, and picture after picture was snapped and discarded.
Tyler, who had been saying all week that he wanted a haircut, couldn't stand his hair in any of the pictures. He became more and more disgusted by it with every picture that was taken.
"I need to get my hair cut!" He exclaimed. Then he looked at the clock, noticed it was not even 9:30 p.m. yet, and turned to his wife with a scheming grin.
This was not the first time that Tyler had thought about having Tenika cut his hair. The idea terrified her though. Not only had she never cut anyone's hair before, but she has a deep-set fear of sharp objects.
Tyler was not to be disuaded however. It only took a few minutes of pleading before Tenika gave in to her oh-so-handsome husband. They took a trip to Wal-Mart and used wedding gift cards (which seem to last until the end of time, not that the two would complain) to pay for a hair cutting kit.
Once at home, Tyler opened the kit, and Tenika immediately grabbed for the instructions. She wasn't very sure that this was a good idea. If she could have, she probably would have backed out. But Tyler was ready, and anxious, to have his hair cut. He felt this was a good investment--teach the wife to cut hair and you save a lot of money on future haircuts.
So the guard was put on, the clippers began vibrating, and Tenika nervously (and with many exclamations of "I'm not sure about this...oh gosh...") began cutting her husband's hair.
One cannot dispute that Tyler is a brave soul. His wife was chopping his hair off and making comments about how bad she thought it was going to look. Yet he had her keep going.
After the initial cut, it was determined that some blending would need to be done. Tyler and Tenika consulted the basic manual that had come with the clippers. And then Tenika again, stating that she was afraid of chopping off an ear or stabbing her husband in the head, turned on the clippers.
The ending of this story is a happy one. The hair cut turned out fine. Both Tenika and Tyler survived. There were no wounds. Tenika now has a new profile picture on Facebook. And while Tenika is just giving a sigh of relief that the experience is over...Tyler is already planning the next hair cutting adventure.

P.S. I feel like we are an official married couple now that I have cut my husband's hair! It seems like an initiation of some sort. :)

Good job! I hated the first time I cut Bryce and Brayden's hair, But now I can do fast and it still looks great! Each time that you do it it gets easier!
Yay! You did it!! It looks great from the photos, and you will definitely get more confident at it as you go.
I think that everytime you cut Tyler's hair, you should set aside the money it would have cost him to have it done elsewhere, and then, after reaching a predetermined amount of time/money, do something fabulous together with it! =D {That should help with the jitters, too. =)}
