Trying It Out...

So...I took the plunge. I'm going to try to sell some of my jewelry (eek!) I have this deep set fear that no one will like it, or they will think it's too expensive, or it will all break, or....well, you get the point. I'm very insecure about it. A friend suggested I sell on etsy.com but I am too chicken to do that just yet. So I'm doing a trial run through blog. Please check it out, and give me feed back if you think I could improve something...as I'm sure I could improve quite a bit...

Ta Da!

So...my computer is RETARDED and won't let me move things around...and keeps deleting what I try to move. Sorry this post looks a little skee-whompis...I made up the spelling on that word, by the way. I just had to show off what I've done! The picture you see right above this paragraph...is the jewelry I will wear to my wedding! Hurray! And below are a few samples of work I've done in the past few days as gifts. :)

This is a necklace and bracelet for my mom for her birthday (today. Happy Birthday, Mom!) It would probably look better on a model, but that's okay. Use your imagination.

This bracelet is a birthday present for a friend of mine...but she hasn't had her birthday yet so she doesn't know this is hers. :)

This bracelet and earring set are a birthday gift for ANOTHER friend. July is a busy birthday month for me. Anyway...just wanted to show off my work. I've been enjoying it...and it's nice to know I have some tiny bit of creativity in me. Hurray!

Jewelry

I had a request from someone to see the jewelry I made for my little primary girls for their baptism. Unfortunately, I wasn't smart enough to take pictures of the jewelry before giving it to them. I usually make it just a day or two before the baptism. But I did take a picture of the first one I ever made (I was rather proud). It's blurry, but it's the second one down (I can't get my blog to let me re-arrange the pictures. Grrr.) Then I took pictures today of the jewelry I've made in the past few days. I've become a bit of a jewelry making addict.

Look at me, being all crafty!

To begin with, I would like to say that I am NOT a crafty, or creative, person. I can't draw, I can't cross-stitch, I can't knit or sew...I hate scrapbooking, painting, or anything else that might require me to make things look cute. However, after realizing how expensive it is to buy little bracelets for baptisms, and wanting to be able to give little bracelets for the girls in my primary class when they got baptized (don't worry, I plan to give the one boy in my class a tie pin, not a bracelet)...I've discovered that making jewelry is kind of fun.

With this new discovery, and a sudden burst of energy, I decided it would be awesome if I made jewelry for the girls for the wedding. And by girls I mean my mom and sister and my mother-in-law and two sisters-in-law. I made the first necklace (I had also planned to make earrings until I discovered that Tyler's sisters have very sensitive ears...as does my mom...), I decided this was going to take more effort and patience than I have.

Then yesterday, I got another burst of energy, and decided I might as well continue with the jewelry endeavor. This time the energy lasted until after I had finished all of the necklaces I would need. HURRAY!

So these pictures...which are certainly not amazing because I took them on my phone...show four of the five necklaces I made. And yes, I am a little bit proud of them.
