Let's just take a minute to talk about the cute things my little boy does. There are a lot of them. Having a two year old can be SO hard with the tantrums and demands for independence...but he's getting to be so much fun. We have real conversations on a regular basis, he's doing more for himself...I just love watching him learn and grow.
One of my favorite things is seeing how much of an interest Jamison has taken in people. One day he was nervous being around someone new and I reassured him that it was okay and that person was a friend. Now just about everyone we come in contact with, Jamison will turn to me and ask, "a friend?" He's asks it of my aunts and uncles who come to visit Grandma, any little kid near his age, and even the people who give talks at church.
The friend he has talked about the most recently has been Uncle "Dairy" (Gary) who came from Arizona to visit for a week. He loved giving him five and "helping" him (like pulling weeds/grass in the front yard). He still asks about him, though they left over a week ago.
But he also loves talking about my friend's daughter, who he played with on his slide a few weeks ago. Every time we play on the slide he brings up his friend (whose name he never said but I love that she called him "Jay-se-man").
He also asks about his best friend (who used to live upstairs from us before we moved...) on a regular basis.
And he's always excited to go to nursery and see his friends there
(though he alternates between calling them friends and babies). It just
melts my heart!
I hope that in a couple months when his younger brother shows up on the scene, Jamison will view him as a friend too.
